Understanding Duplicate Import Options
When importing data into Client Feedback Tool you have the option to state what you want to happen with that data in the event it already exists within the system.
1. Ignore Duplicates - This does what it says. If you have project #s/contacts/users with matching numbers/emails in Client Feedback Tool and in the import file, they won't be updated; they are ignored.
2. Merge Duplicates - This is the most complex option. If you have matching data in your import and in Client Feedback Tool, the resulting import will be a "mix" of the two. For example, let's say your existing project has project types "Type 1" and "Type 2" and a single project manager "User 1". The project you're importing has just "Type 3" and "User 2" as project manager. After the update, the project will end up with Types 1, 2 and 3 and Users 1 and 2 as managers. If the project name in the import file is different than the project in Client Feedback Tool, the new name from the import file will be used.
3. Replace Duplicates - Replaces all metadata attached to the project #/contact/user upon upload. In the same scenario as above the project will end up with just "Type 3" as project type and "User 2" as a manager.
